Footpath by the Grove

A path winds gently through the edge of a grove, where light and shadow converse in hushed tones.
“Footpath by the Grove” portrays a landscape not grand in scale, but rich in memory. This is a road walked countless times — by farmers and children, by footsteps long faded — now softened by moss and leaves, and embraced by leaning trees.
The grove is not dense; it does not conceal. Instead, it offers shelter without closing in, allowing the wind to move, the light to filter, and the walker to pause without fear of being lost.
In this ink painting, the brush moves slowly, honoring the pauses between each step. The path itself is a symbol — of return, of familiarity, of places that shape our inner maps without fanfare.
There is no destination shown, no climax anticipated. Only the gentle rhythm of movement through time, and the quiet companionship of trees that have stood long enough to remember.
This work is a meditation on passage — not as escape, but as belonging. A reminder that some journeys begin and end in the same place, and that this, too, is home.
